About Gary Paulsen
- Gary Paulsen was born on may 17,1939 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
- In school he mainly made D's and F's on his work.
- He was working as a satellite technician when he started to want to be
a writer.
- His first novel was finished in the winter of 1966 called The Special
War.
- He has written over 150 books for children and adult.
- In 1983 he joined the Iditarod and he joined it
again in 1985.
- Mr. Paulsen is a prolific writer who has given
us many treasures and some of the best books known which is probably hatchet.
- In 1997 Gary received the MAE awards.
- They committed six of his books.
- The committed Dancing Carl, Hatchet, The
Crossing, The Winter Room, Woodsong, and Canyons.
- Paulsen was raised by his aunts and grandmother when he
was young because he father was stationed to Europe during World War 2.
