Sharon M. Draper was born in Cleveland Ohio.  She is the child of Victor and Catherine Mills.  As a child, she loved writing for fun.  She has written many books.  Her main books were talking about teen fiction.  Some of her books are:

•     Forged by Fire

• Tears of a Tiger

• The Battle of Jericho

• Double Dutch

• Darkness Before Dawn

• Romiette and Julio

• Teaching from the Heart

These are some of the many books she has written.  She inspires kids to get there education, that is why she become a teacher.  She teaches language, history, composition, English, and literature.   ln 1997 she won the National Teacher of the Year Award.  She furthered  her education by going back to school and getting a degree in Master's and her Bachelor of Arts graduating Summa Cum Laude.  She is now married and is currently living in Cincinnati, Ohio, were she is now teaching.
