My webpage is about Sharon Draper. She is my favorite author because she wrote some very interesting books. Sharon Draper was born in Cleveland to Victor and Catherine Mills. She was raised in Ohio and lived there until her adult years. She is now married to Larry Draper. She has four children, and they live in Cincinnati. When she was a child she would write for fun. Her parents were not teachers, but educators. So, in 1970 she went to Pepperdine University graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude. That same year she began teaching English, language, composition, history, and literature . Then, she went back to school at Miami University and got her Master's degree. She is now a professional teacher. Then, she started writing books. She wrote her books based on observations and her empathy for others. She has written many books over the years. After she had accomplished all that in 1997 she was named National Teacher of the Year. She was also board certified by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. She speaks at schools, and has her own website. So, that you can e-mail her. She has questions and answers on her website based on the books she wrote. |
